Step 1: Perform a hard reset

A forced or hard reset erases all the information in the computer’s memory which may restore functionality. Resetting the system forces the system to clear and reestablish the software connections between the BIOS and the hardware. While performing a hard reset it is suggested to disconnect or remove all the peripheral devices. Before beginning turn the computer over and look for a battery compartment door. Actually there are two ways of performing hard resetting.

  • Reset a notebook with a removable battery

Step 4: Reseat the hard drive
